The World Stage: Africa, Lagos ~ Dakar, organized by The Studio Museum in Harlem, New York, opens up this Thursday at Artpace San Antonio. Featuring monumental brand-new paintings by Brooklyn-based artist Kehinde Wiley
, the exhibition builds upon Wiley’s signature examicountry of figurative paint, drawing worldwide inspiration from modern and also postcolonial Afrideserve to art and also culture.

The second exhibition in Wiley’s continuous “The World Stage” series, the portraits consisted of in The World Stage: Africa, Lagos ~ Dakar were developed from the artist’s 2007 travels in Nigeria and Senegal.
